Erin Locy Wins Buck Harless Student Athlete Award

10/2/2001

Marshall University women?s soccer player Erin Locy is the recipient of this year?s Buck Harless Student Athlete Award. The award is presented annually to the athlete voted to be the best overall representative of the Marshall University Buck Harless Student Athlete Program.

?We think that Erin is an excellent person to represent the Buck Harless Student Athlete Program for her character on and off the field,? Michelle Duncan, Director of the Buck Harless Student Athlete Program, said.

Erin is a senior education major who has maintained a 4.0 G.P.A. throughout her previous three years at Marshall. She was a member of the original women?s soccer team at Marshall University. The Auburn, Ala., native has been a four-year starter at defender for the Thundering Herd.

?We are very proud of Erin. There is no doubt that she has worked extremely hard and is deserving of this honor,? Marshall Women?s Soccer Head Coach Teresa Patterson said. ?From the first day that Erin arrived on this campus she has committed herself to excellence in the classroom and on the playing field. Over the course of her career at Marshall Erin has been an excellent representative of our women?s soccer program and the entire athletic department.?
