Herd Women’s Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Soccer Head Coach Rafa Simoes announced the team's 2026 schedule Wednesday. The Herd is scheduled to host 11 matches this season, including an exhibition, at Hoops Family Field at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex.

Coach Simoes and the Herd had a resurgent 2025 season. In his second year as skipper for MU, Simoes led the team to win its most games in a decade with four All-Conference selections, also the program's most since 2015.
"Entering our third season, there's a tremendous sense of excitement around our program," said Coach Simoes. "I'm incredibly proud of what our players have accomplished and the culture they've helped build. This group is hungry, motivated, and committed to continuing to raise the standard every day. We look forward to building on last year's momentum and competing at the highest level while representing Marshall University with pride."
After a home exhibition contest on Sunday, August 9th, the Herd hosts regional rivals Morehead State on Thursday, August 13th and Ohio on Sunday, August 16th to open the season. Wright State, Murray State, and Glenville State will also come to Huntington in non-conference action before the Herd welcomes Louisiana Tech for its Sun Belt Conference opener. In league play, Marshall will host 2025 Tournament finalists ULM and 2024 Tournament Champions, JMU. Senior Day is scheduled for October 11th against the Warhawks.
