Herd Women’s Soccer player earns $2,500 stipend for being named as finalist

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Soccer player Nicole Navarro was recently named as a finalist for the Dr. Pepper 'Go Teach' Tuition Award.

Navarro received a $2,500 tuition stipend for being named as a nominee for the award, which is part of the 'Go Teach' program's effort to inspire and support future teachers and educators.

Navarro was nominated for the award in December and was named one of five finalists from the Sun Belt Conference.  

The Barcelona, Spain, native is working toward her degree in Early Childhood Education and will be a member of the 2026 Thundering Herd as a graduate student.
