Men's Basketball Travels to Radford

Marshall University's men's basketball team will be looking to extend its three game winning streak when it travels to Radford, Va., to take on the Radford Highlanders Thursday at the Dedmon Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Marshall (3-3) has won three consecutive contests after starting the season 0-3. The Thundering Herd is coming off of a solid 71-65 win at Winthrop. Senior center J.R. VanHoose scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in that contest, while senior guard Tamar Slay netted 16 points, all in the second half.
Radford (4-4) is coming off of a 76-65 win at home over American University. Radford is led by seven-foot, 260-pound senior Andrey Savtchenko that is currently averaging 16.4 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. The Highlander roster also features former Huntington High standout Mike Hornbuckle. Hornbuckle, a 6-1 senior guard, leads RU with 25 assists and is scoring 12.1 points per outing.
