HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – After an incredible response from Herd fans to the first "Taking Care of the House" event at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, Marshall Athletics is bringing the community initiative inside to the Cam Henderson Center.

Herd fans are invited to join Marshall Athletics on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9-11 a.m. for a morning of cleaning, general maintenance and facility improvements throughout the Henderson Center as preparations continue for the upcoming basketball season.

The event continues the spirit behind "Taking Care of the House" – giving members of Herd Nation an opportunity to take an active role in caring for the facilities that belong to the Marshall community.

"The response we received from Herd Nation to our first Taking Care of the House event was incredible," Marshall Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison said. "Our fans showed how much pride they have in Marshall and in the places we call home. The Henderson Center has meant so much to generations of Marshall fans, student-athletes and our community, and we're excited to give Herd Nation another opportunity to come together and take care of our house."

Volunteers will assist Marshall Athletics staff with a variety of projects focused primarily on cleaning and general maintenance throughout the Cam Henderson Center.

Following the event, volunteers are invited to stick around for a special look at the 2026-27 Marshall Men's Basketball team. Men's basketball practice will begin at 11 a.m., immediately following the conclusion of Taking Care of the House, and all participating fans are welcome to stay and watch.

As a thank you for giving their time to Marshall Athletics, each participating fan will receive two complimentary tickets to Marshall Men's Basketball's Dec. 23 game against WVU Tech at the Cam Henderson Center.

The morning is about more than cleaning a building. It is another opportunity for Herd Nation to take ownership in the places where Marshall memories are made.

This is our house. Let's take care of it.
