Marshall Men’s Basketball Announces Complete 2026-27 Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall's Men's Basketball Head Coach Cornelius 'Corny' Jackson announced the team's complete 2026-27 schedule Tuesday.
The Herd's 2026-27 slate features 20 home contests from the Cam Henderson Center, including the exhibition opener against West Virginia Wesleyan on October 22.
"We're really excited about this season's schedule and what it means for our program," Coach Jackson said. "We've put together a tough slate that will challenge us from the very beginning, with great opportunities to compete against some of the best teams in college basketball both home and away. We're looking forward to the challenge, the experiences we'll create along the way, and representing Marshall at a high level all season long!"
The regular season opens for Coach Jackson's Herd against Buffalo in the MAC-SBC Challenge on November 2. Another MAC foe in Toledo comes to Huntington five days later on November 7 for MU's first Saturday contest of the season. Other Saturday home games at the Henderson Center in 2026 include East Texas A&M (Nov. 28) and Kentucky Christian (Dec. 12)
Additionally in non-conference play, Marshall will play host to three conference champions from the last season, including ETSU (Nov. 17), UNC Wilmington (Dec. 2), and Bethune-Cookman (Dec. 5).
Herd fans will get plenty of opportunities for holiday hoops with Prairie View A&M (Nov. 25) and WVU Tech (Dec. 23). A New Year's Eve contest against South Alabama will be the second of nine SBC contests Marshall will host in 2026-27.
