Women's Soccer Falls to Cincinnati 1-0

Cincinnati, OH- Marshall Univeristy women?s soccer team fell to the University of Cincinnati 1-0 on Saturday. The Bearcats played tough on defense holding Marshall to only 6 shots in the match. The Thundering Herd also played well on defense allowing only 11 shots.
The lone goal in the match was scored when Cincinnati?s Lisa Stephens made a nice pass to Marie Strelka who scored from the left wing.
Kayla Johnson (SR, Tampa, FL) started in goal for the Herd and recorded 3 saves. Freshman Ashleigh Woods (Penfield, NY) took over in the 2nd half and also had 3 saves.
Marshall travels to Lexington, KY to take on the University of Kentucky on Friday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m. This will be the Herd?s first official match of the season. Marshall will open at home on Sept. 2 at 3:00 p.m. at Sam Hood Field against IUPUI
