Women's Soccer Falls to Eastern Michigan 1-0

Ypsilanti, MI-The Marshall University women?s soccer team dropped its first Mid-American Conference match of the season at Eastern Michigan University today,1-0. Marshall falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while Eastern Michigan improves to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

?We?re going to have to quickly learn from today?s game and get ready for Kent tomorrow,? Marshall head coach Teresa Patterson said.
?Eastern Michigan took advantage of a breakdown by us and we lost some possible scoring opportunities.?

The match remained scoreless until EMU?s Katie Lewis scored on a breakaway in the 80th minute. Marshall?s keeper, Ashleigh Woods (Penfield, NY), recorded six saves.

EMU out shot the Herd, 8-7.

Marshall returns to action tomorrow in Kent, Ohio. They will take on Kent State University at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow
