Women's Soccer Receives National Soccer Coaches Association Academic Award

1/8/2002

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America named the Marshall women?s soccer team to its list of top academic programs for the 2000-2001 season. Marshall was one of only 63 Division I women's soccer teams across the country to receive the award.

?This is truly a great honor for our program,? head coach Teresa Patterson said. ?To receive this honor from the NSCAA each year of our program?s existence says volumes about our student-athlete?s dedication to success in the classroom which is a cornerstone from which we continue to build this program.?

A team grade point average of 3.0 or better must be maintained throughout the academic year to be eligible for the award. This is the third consecutive year the program has received this prestegious honor.
