HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall women?s soccer team open a crucial Mid-American Conference home stand on Friday against Central Michigan at 7:00 p.m. The Herd will continue the home stand on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. as they face off against another MAC foe, Eastern Michigan.
Marshall enters the contest with an overall record of 5-6-1 and is 2-4-1 in the conference. This could be a critical weekend for MU as they have the opportunity to move up several spots in the standings with a pair of victories this weekend. The Herd is being led offensively by freshman Ashley Schillig (New Albany, OH) who has eight goals and two assists on the season. She is currently tied for seventh in the MAC with 17 point on the season.
The pair of Michigan schools come into Huntington ranked 7th and 8th respectively in the MAC. Eastern Michigan is 6-8-1 overall and 4-4-1 in MAC play. Central Michigan is currently 4-5-4 overall on the season and a 3-3-3 in conference play.
