Herd Hit the Water in First Green/White Meet

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Marshall University swim team held its first ever Green versus White intrasquad scrimmage at the Huntington YMCA on Sunday. The Green team defeated the White team by a score of 58-48.

Erika Nillson, a sophomore transfer from Northern Illinois, took first place for the white team in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:59.37, followed by Elyse Beard's (green) time of 11:23.60.

Liisa Raty (2:02.47) won the 200 freestyle for team white and finished second in the 200 IM behind the green team's Milla Kuurto (2:15.16).

The Marshall swimming and diving team opens its season on Oct. 26 at Youngstown State.
