Men's Basketball Prepares for Opener with Kentucky State

Marshall University?s men?s basketball team will play its first home game Monday (Nov. 25) against the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Cam Henderson Center.
Marshall (1-0) is coming off of a season opening 92-90 win at Niagara, while Kentucky State (1-1) finds itself trying to rebound after a 90-65 loss at Northern Kentucky in the championship game of the Northern Kentucky?s John L. Griffin/Lions Club Classic.
. In the opening game of the tournament, Kentucky State dominated Ohio Valley College, 87-57.
The Thorobreds are coached by former University of Kentucky player Winston Bennett and are being paced by guard Ricky Green, who earned all-tournament honors at NKU. Green is averaging 12 points per game for the Thorobreds.
