Softball to Host Spring Classic

Huntington, W. Va.- The Marshall University Softball Team will host the Marshall University Spring Softball Classic presented by Hampton Inn this Friday through Sunday, March 15th, 16th and 17th at Dot Hicks Field on the campus of Marshall University.
The University of Dayton, Oakland University and Cleveland State University will be competing in the tournament along with Marshall. A round-robin format will be followed with games played on Friday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Thundering Herd will be in action at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday against Oakland and Cleveland, 10:00 a.m. and noon on Saturday versus Oakland and Dayton and 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday against Cleveland and Dayton.
Marshall comes into the tournament with an overall record of 5-9 after facing some tough competition in the early going. The Herd have now won two of their last three, including a 10-1 trouncing of Delaware State in their last outing, and is looking to continue on a roll as they open their first home stand of the season.
Admission will be free for all of the games this weekend.
