HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Marshall women?s swimming and diving team returns to action this evening as the Mid-American Conference?s second place Miami RedHawks travel to Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium for a 5 p.m. tilt.
Miami (9-3, 3-0 MAC) is coming off a 190-104 road victory over Kenyon on Saturday in which three RedHawks set pool records. Freshman Katie Forster (5:00.47) set a pool record in the 500-yard freestyle, while junior Casey Mangano (1:06.61) and sophomore Trisha Lamb (2:06.12) set pool records in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard backstroke, respectively.
Marshall (4-4, 0-3 MAC) is looking for its first MAC victory since kick starting its inaugural season with an Oct. 26 victory over Youngstown State in Ohio. The Thundering Herd fell to Ball State on Saturday 187-111. Freshman Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) swam a MAC season best time of 56.91 in the 100-yard butterfly during the season?s first home meet.
Tonight?s affair is the start of a busy weekend for the Herd as the Radford Highlanders (2-6) travel to Huntington for a 2 p.m. meet, less than 24 hours from the end of the square off with Miami. It will be Marshall?s final home meet of the 2002-03 season.
