10/21/2003
Marshall will look to put three wins together for the first time this season when it travels to Kalamazoo, Mich., Saturday to do battle with the Broncos of Western Michigan University at 2:30 p.m.
The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Net with the broadcast team of Dave Weekly, Charles Arbuckle, and Sharon Thorsland. The game will be carried by Fox Sports Net Detroit, Chicago, Ohio, Pittsburgh and Midwest. The Empire Network, the Sunshine Network, and WSAZ-TV (in Huntington and Charleston, W.Va.) will also carry the broadcast.
Western Michigan leads the all-time series 22-10 and boasts a home mark of 12-3 against the Herd. However, Marshall has won three of the last four meetings between the two schools, including the last one - a 19-14 win in the 2000 MAC Championship game at Marshall Stadium.
Western Michigan enters the contest looking to snap a two-game losing skid. The Broncos have dropped consecutive contests to Bowling Green (21-32) and at nationally-ranked Northern Illinois (10-37).
The Broncos boast an exciting playmaker in sophomore Greg Jennings who already has nine touchdown receptions this year. He leads WMU in yards per game (80.3) and yards per catch. (17). Jennings, coupled with standout quarterback Chad Munson are a big reason why WMU ranks fifth in the nation in passing with 327.8 yards per game.
