CONCERNING MARSHALL'S QUARTERBACKS
?Graham (Gochneaur) will be the starter this week.?
?We will see how the swelling in his(Stan Hill?s) knee goes and then make a decision.?
?He (Graham) has won a lot of big games. He has come up big for us and we are lucky to have two (good quarterbacks) and even three. Jimmy Skinner is going to be a fine quarterback.?
?Graham?s getting more experienced. He runs the offense well. His completion percentage is somewhere around 70 percent right now?what more can I ask for.?
?I feel very confident with Graham at quarterback. We aren?t changing anything, but the number on the jersey.?
ABOUT WESTERN MICHIGAN LAST WEEK
?We were ready to play last week and it showed."
?It was the least amount of production we?ve given up all year and it was against a nationally-ranked offense. I thought our defense played really well.?
TURNOVER TROUBLES
?I?ve never had this many fumbles. We had some picks (interceptions) early in the year, but we seem to have taken care of that.?
?It is amazing that we are 5-3 considering all the injuries and the turnovers, but we are still in the hunt for a championship.?
ABOUT LAST YEAR?S LOSS AT AKRON
?Last year is immaterial and doesn't have anyting to do with this year. The motivation to win and stay in the hunt should be enough and that is what we have stressed to the team.?
ON AKRON
?Their defense has played really well in the first three quarters and given up most of their points in the fourth quarter. They have a good defense scheme and they held us with a lot of the same defensive personnel last year.?
?He (quarterback Charlie Frye) is a tough kid and a good player. Frye is the best quarterback we will have seen all year so far. He and the young man we will see next week will both be playing on Sundays.?
ABOUT KICKING GAME
?Our kicking game is like a yo-yo. It seems like we do well at one thing one week and bad at another and the next week it is totally different.
"Our special teams have to play better. They are trying hard ... we work on it more than any one I have ever seen in practice. We have a lot of young kickers and youth on special teams.?
