CARMICHAEL, Calif. - Marshall sophomore swimmer, Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) is ranked nationally in both the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard butterfly.

In the 100-yard butterfly Kuurto currently rests in 15th place with a time of 54.54. In the 200-yard butterfly she is ranked 46th with a time of 2:01.93. Her time in the 100-yard butterfly is a Mid-American Conference record, and both the 100 and 200-yard times are Marshall records.

Kuurto, who was named this week's MAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her performance at the Miami Invitational where she captured three first place finishes: the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.92), 200-yard butterfly (2:01.93), and the 100-yard butterfly (54.54). She placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (51.53). Kuurto was also a member of three relay teams, all of which placed fourth: 200-yard freestyle (1:38.14), 200-yard medley (1:48.21) and 400-yard freestyle (3:37.26).
