OXFORD, Ohio - Marshall sophomore Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) set a new Mid-American Conference record in the 100-yard butterfly (54.54) during second day action at the Miami Invitational.
In addition to her record setting performance in the 100-yard butterfly, Kuurto also had a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.92).
Marshall's 800-yard frestyle relay team comprised of Kuurto, junior Erika Nilsson (Haninge, Sweden), sophomore Michele Knicely (Bridgeport, W.Va.) and freshman Emily Edmonson (Chattanooga, Tenn.) placed third with a time of 7:44.04.
Sophomore, Casey Mulholland (Stone Mountain, Ga.) placed third in 3-meter diving (408.00).
"I am really looking forward to tomorrow," said Marshall Head Coach Leonard Kraus, "we're holding our own against some tought teams. I'm really proud of our team."
The Miami Invitational concludes on Sunday.
