Kuurto Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Sophomore Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) was named the Mid-American Conference's Women's Swimmer of the Week for her performance this weekend at the Miami Invitational.
Kuurto had three first place finishes: the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.92), 200-yard butterfly (2:01.93), and the 100-yard butterfly (54.54). Her time in the 100-yard butterfly set a new MAC, Marshall, and meet record. She placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (51.53) and third in the 800-yard freestyle (7:44.04). Kuurto was also a member of three relay teams, all of which placed fourth: 200-yard freestyle (1:38.14), 200-yard medley (1:48.21) and 400-yard freestyle (3:37.26).
This is the second time this season a Marshall swimmer has received this honor. Erika Nilsson picked up the award the first week.
