Mulholland Gains Experience at Zone Championships

OXFORD, Ohio -- Casey Mulholland took home considerable experience in her first NCAA Diving Zone Championships held March 14-15 on the campus of Miami (OH) University. The Herd freshman finished in 41st place in the 1-meter competition and 36th in the 3-meter portion.

Although Mulholland failed to qualify for the finals of each event, her diving coach was ecstatic with her season.

"Casey exceeded our goals and had a phenomenal freshman campaign," MU Diving Coach Clifton Waterbury said. "She will be able to build on her experiences this season and become a better diver in the future."

Mulholland was one of only five divers from the Mid-American Conference to compete at the championships.

Indiana's Sara Hildebrand won Saturday's 1-meter competition and Lisette Planken of Iowa took top honors in Friday's 3-meter diving. The top five finishers in each event moved on to the NCAA Championships.
