Fischer and Yeske to Join Herd Soccer
3/4/2003
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University Head Women?s Soccer Coach Chris Kane has announced two new additions to his squad. Tracy Fischer and Dana Yeske will join the program in the fall of 2003.
?With Tracy and Dana, we are adding two strong outside midfield players to our 2003 class,? Kane said. ?Dana?s speed and quickness will not only help us on the outside, but at forward as well. Tracy is a quality left-sided player who can get up and down the field joining the team offensively as well as defensively. We are proud to have them both as a part of the Marshall University women?s soccer program.?
Fischer is primarily a left-sided player who looks to play a midfield spot for the Herd. The Dayton, Ohio native and senior at Centerville High School received her conference?s 2002 GWOC Scholar Athlete Award. She also played for the Eagles soccer club.
A member of the Alabama Olympic Developmental Program team for the last three seasons, Yeske hails from Madison, Alabama. She won four Alabama state championships with the Kicks Soccer Club, playing primarily at the forward and outside midfield positions. Yeske is a senior at Bob Jones High School.
The Herd is coming off a 2002 season in which they went 6-9-2 overall and finished 3-7-2 in the Mid-American Conference. The team will kick off its spring schedule this weekend as they travel to Morgantown, W.Va. to compete in West Virginia University?s 7 v. 7 Tournament.
