McCoy Becomes Part of the Herd
8/28/2003
HUNTINGTON, WV ? Head coach Shonda Stanton is happy to announce the addition of Tracee McCoy to the Marshall softball coaching staff.
McCoy will be a graduate assistant for the Herd for the 2003-04 season.
A native of Akron, Ohio, McCoy graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Child Development in 2003, but not before racking up a slew of hits for the Zip softball team.
The two-time First Team All-Mid American Conference selection led her squad in hitting, batting average, RBIs and slugging percentage her senior year. She also garnered All-Great Lakes Region honors, MAC All-Tournament Team and Second Team All-MAC as a freshman.
At Ellet High School, the 5?3? shortstop was named Cleveland Plain Dealer and Akron City Player of the Year in 1999.
?Tracee was a phenomenal player for Akron and we are thrilled to have her on our side of the fence,? Stanton said. ?She brings a wealth of knowledge and playing experience.?
