Men?s Basketball Announces Thundering Herd Madness

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall men?s basketball team will open practice for the 2004-05 season with Thundering Herd Madness, a midnight practice on Friday, October 15th. Fans will get a first look at the Herd and the Mid-American Conference?s number one recruiting class.
Doors open at the Cam Henderson Center at 10:30 p.m., with many activities and giveaways scheduled. Among the giveaways are two roundtrip trips to Florida for Spring Break, T-shirts marking the occasion, an Easy Chair recliner, gift certificates for establishments in the Huntington area, and a semester?s worth of free books. Three lucky contestants will also get the opportunity to shoot for a free car. Sponsors for Thundering Herd Madness include Travel Doctors, Dickenson Furniture, Pepsi, Advantage Toyota, the Marshall University Bookstore, Big Sandy Superstore, and 93.7 The Dawg.
Tickets are available for free from now until Thursday, October 14th, at Buddy?s Barbeque and from WDGG-FM, the Dawg, at 523-2275. On October 15th, tickets will be available at the Marshall ticket office. The charge is $5 for adults and $2 for children. Marshall students, faculty, and staff will be admitted free.
Players will also be available for autographs when the doors open at 10:30 p.m.
