Women's Golf Finishes Fourth In Lady Herd Fall Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's golf team finished the 36-hole Lady Herd Fall Invitational in fourth place with a two-round total of 625. Ohio won the inaugural tournament with a 604.
Marshall's top finisher for the tournament was Tammy Mahar (Ashland, Ky.), who posted a two round total of 154 (76-78), which was good for tenth place. Allyson Hatcher (Wheeling, W.Va.) finished one spot behind Mahar with a 155 (80-75), and Amber Churchill (Dublin, Ohio) carded a 158 (79-79), to finish in a tie for 16th. Jodie Switzer (Collingwood, Ontario) finished in a tie for 18th with a 159 (78-81), and Stacy Wagner (Harmony, Pa.) finished in a tie for 37th with a 167 (87-80).
Individually, Whitney Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.) finished with a 164 (83-81, T-31), Meredith Crislip (Parkersburg, W.Va.) tallied a 169 (84-85, T-40), and Natalie Cooke (Vienna, W.Va.) ended the tournament with a 171 (87-84, T-43).
Ohio's Sara Ann Palmer won the tournament with a one over par, 145. Her teammate Shanna Siefke finished in second with a 149.
Marshall concludes its fall season, and takes the course again is March 3-5 at the East/West Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
