Swimming and Diving to Hold Green/White Meet
10/8/2004
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University women's swimming and diving team will be holding its annual Green/White meet on Saturday Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. in the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium.
Returning for the Herd is junior Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) who ended the 2003-2004 season with three first place finishes at the Mid-American Conference Championships. Kuurto captured the top spots in the 100-yard freestyle (51.41), the 200-yard butterfly (2:00.36) and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.21 which also set a new MAC record.
The Herd returns 11 members from last season's squad and added 11 freshman to the roster during the off-season.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the freshman on Saturday," said Marshall University Head Coach Leonard Kraus, "This will be the first opportunity to see them in a meet-like setting. It will give us an idea of what we need to work on before our first meet."
The meet on Saturday is open to the public.
