CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Senior Alice Sukner (Pittsburgh, Pa.) racked up four wins for the Marshall University tennis team this weekend en route to a Mid-American Conference Player of the Week nod on Tuesday.
Sukner, playing at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles, went undefeated in the Herd's east coast wins over Penn State and Princeton.
She defeated Megan Marton of Penn State 6-3, 6-0, and Princeton's Jessica Siebel 6-2, 6-4, in singles action before teaming up for a pair of wins with junior Lillie Nzudie (Douala, Cameroon).
The recognition is the second for an MU tennis player this season. Fellow senior Jessica Johnson (Sewickly, Pa.) won player of the week honors Feb. 3 of this year.
