Herd Set to Battle Pair of ACC Foes

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Marshall University softball team continues to pound through its strong schedule with two doubleheaders against NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Marshall (14-11), who is fresh off a 3-2 stint at the Winthrop/Ringor Invitational, will take on a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference members with games against the Wolfpack on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. and the Tar Heels on Wednesday, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The Herd's Leigh Wintter (Acworth, Ga.) is still holding the hot bat for MU. Her three home runs this past weekend give the third baseman nine in 2004. Wintter also racked up 13 RBIs in the invite.
