Pittsburgh (6-8) held Marshall to only four hits in the contest as Panther pitcher Laura Belardinelli struck out three and didn?t give up a run.

Marshall threatened in the first after putting together three hits, but was unable to score until the top of the third inning when Courtney Kacenga (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) was sent home via a throwing error by the Cleveland State pitcher for a 1-0 lead.

Then it was Wintter again, this time a three-run home run?her third of the tournament?to extend the MU lead to four.

MU kept up the strong offensive effort through the sixth with five hits and four runs in the sixth inning, including a two-run double from Kacenga, stretching the lead to the final, 9-0.
