Women's Golf Places Eighth At Bonnie Hoover Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Thundering Herd women's golf team finished eighth out of 17 teams this weekend at the Bonnie Hoover Invitational, an event hosted by James Madison University, with a three-round total of 942 (308-318-316). The host Dukes claimed the team title with an 894 (289-302-303).

Freshman Allyson Hatcher (Wheeling, W.Va.) led the way for the Herd, finishing in a tie for 17th place with a 15-over par 231 (77-79-75). Amber Churchill (Dublin, Ohio) was next with a 234 (75-78-81, T-29), and Tammy Mahar (Ashland, Ky.) carded a 239 (73-82-84, T-35). Stacy Wagner (Harmony, Pa.) was the final Marshall scorer when she posted a 243 (83-79-80, T-54). Meredith Crislip (Parkersburg, W.Va.) was also on the course this weekend, shooting a 256 (86-90-80, 81).

JMU's Jayme Langford collected medalist honors with a three-over par 219 (70-75-74). Fellow Duke Carol Green finished in second place with a 221 (72-74-75).

Marshall's next tournament is the MAC Championships April 23-25 in Hamilton, Ohio.
