CLEVELAND, Ohio?Senior Sarah Wilson (Washington, W.Va.) was named to the 2004 Softball Academic All-MAC team on Tuesday, as voted on by faculty representatives at MAC institutions.

Wilson boasts a 3.77 grade point average and is the lone biology major on the list composed of 15 student-athletes.

In her senior season, the outfielder shined for the Herd at the plate batting .288 with 46 hits. Her ten doubles and seven home runs were second on the MU squad in 2003, which went 31-27 and 12-12 in the MAC. Wilson also started in 55 of 57 games she appeared in.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
