HUNTINGTON, W.Va?The regular season may be nearly five months away, but Marshall softball fans can still catch a glimpse of what is to come when Green battles White in intra-squad action on Sept. 24-26 and Sept. 29 at Dot Hicks Field.

The games will be the only competition this fall for the Herd and will be full-game atmosphere.

Marshall, which narrowly missed the Mid-American Conference tournament a year ago, went 31-27 and an even 12-12 in conference play. While three seniors, including 2004 MAC Player of the Year Sierra Davenport, may be gone, the Herd has plenty of artillery returning. Two-year starters Amanda Williams (Powder Springs, Ga.), Jessica Williams (Powder Springs, Ga.), Leigh Wintter (Acworth, Ga.), Sara Spenia (Las Vegas, Nev.), and Courtney Kacenga (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) will all be back in action in 2005 along with three-year hurler and lone senior Randi Nielson (Tucson, Ariz.).

All games are free at Dot Hicks Field. Below is the schedule of the fall intra-squad games.

Friday, Sept. 24 (DH) 6 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 25 (DH) 1 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 26 (DH) 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 29 3 p.m.
