HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Marshall women's soccer fell to Southern Miss tonight by a score of 3-0 at Marshall Bell Track and Soccer Complex.
The Golden Eagles scored all three goals in the opening half of play. The first goal of the match came from Kim Turner in the seventh minute of play off of a corner kick. Sarah Brennan scored the second goal with and assist from Turner. The third and final goal of the match came from Sarah McFadden, who also assisted the first goal.
Kai Nordness (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville) made 10 saves in the match.
"We can't expect to win a game when we don't show up to play and our heads aren't in the game," head coach Chris Kane said.
Marshall travels to UCF on Sunday for a match at 1 p.m. before returning home to Sam Hood Field on Oct. 21 to play SMU.
