HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Travis Aikens scored 17 points to lead five double-figure scorers in Marshall's 73-70 win over Youngstown State on Sunday.

Mark Patton scored 16, Joe Miles scored 12, Chris Ross notched 11 points and Tre Whitted added 10 for Marshall.

Youngstown State's Quin Humphrey scored 18 points, with eight coming in the final minute, and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds.

Younger brother Markel Humphrey, a Marshall guard, scored five points.

John Barber scored 16 points, while Keston Roberts and Dominique Crawford added 10 apiece for Youngstown State.

Youngstown State had built a five-point lead, but a 3-pointer by Miles and a dunk by Aikens in 30 seconds tied the game at 51 with 10:20 left.

Whitted hit a 3-pointer from the corner to give Marshall a 66-58 lead with 2:30 left.

Marshall opened up a 68-59 lead on a Patton dunk with 53 seconds left.

Youngstown State scored six points in 15 seconds to cut the lead to 68-65 with 30 seconds left.

Marshall's defense forced Youngstown State into 14 turnovers in the second half to clinch its second straight victory.

The last time Marshall won back-to-back games was its defeat of Ball State and Eastern Michigan in February.
