Mark Patton Named MAC East Division Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Marshall center Mark Patton (Barboursville, W.Va.) was named the MAC East Division Player of the Week for his stellar performances at Akron and versus Miami last week. Patton is the first Marshall player to capture the award in 2004-05.

Patton posted back-to-back double-doubles in points and rebounds in games at Akron and at home vs. Miami, averaging 13.5 rebounds and 13.0 points in two games. Marshall closed out the regular season Saturday with a 54-47 triumph over the MAC Champion RedHawks as Patton led the way with game highs in points (14) and rebounds (11). He also had three steals and two assists. Earlier in the week at Akron, Patton scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds, as well as making two steals.

Peyton Stovall of Ball State claimed MAC West Division honors.
