Kuurto to Compete in NCAA Championships

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Junior swimmer Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) will be traveling to Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the NCAA Championships.

This is the second consecutive year that Kuurto has qualified for the NCAA Championships. She is the only swimmer representing the Mid-American Conference. Kuurto will compete in the 100-yard butterfly with a qualifying time of 54.22. She enters the event ranked 26th (out of 53). Kuurto will also compete in the 200-yard freestyle with a qualifying time of 1:50.35 and ranked 63rd (out of 67). Both events will be held on Friday, March 18.

The Thundering Herd last competed in the MAC Championships where Kuurto led the way finishing first in the 100-yard butterfly, the 200-yard butterfly and second in the 200-yard individual medley.
