Men's Cross Country Claims Sixth Place at Furman Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C.- Matt Null led the Marshall University men's cross country team to a sixth place finish at the Furman Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14. Marian Brooks once again led the women's team earning a 10th place finish in the meet.
In the men's 8k race Null was the first Marshall runner to cross the finish line in 25th place with a time of 26:51. Travis Epling was right on Null's heels in 26th place with a time of 26:58.
Brooks earned her highest finish of the season- second-place finish- with a time of 18:36. Emily Bailey crossed the finish line next in 57th place with a time of 20:45 in the women's 5k event.
The men totaled 151 points with an average time of 27:17 for a sixth-place finish out of 16 teams. The women totaled 292 points and average 21:15.20 for 10th place out of 16 teams.
Marshall will conclude its regular season on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Conference USA Championship in Greenville, N.C. The meet will be hosted by East Carolina.
