Marshall head coach Ron Jirsa
"We played poorly and shot poorly. Robert Morris made big shots at the end and we did not play with discipline at the end. Give Robert Morris credit. They made the tough shots at the end and we didn't have the discipline to answer.
"We can't dwell on this. We have to go to work. We play a tough team (California) on Thursday, so we have a few days."
On what went wrong in the second half
"We took some bad shots, were not strong with the ball and did not communicate well. We had no sense of urgency. I didn't see that fire that you need to have against a team like Robert Morris."
Chris Ross
"They just played harder than us. They wanted the game more than we did.
"We shoot free throws three times a week in the morning and put up 100 every time. I don't know if its concentration or what. Everything is frustrating after a loss like this.
"It all boils down to our effort. We were up 15 so it wasn't just free throws. It has nothing to do with what is going on on the court. It's just us. We have to play harder, and that starts with me. I am the leader on the court and I have to make the team give its all, and we're not doing that right now."
Robert Morris head coach Mark Schmidt
"I am really proud of our effort. We got off to a good start and hung in against a high level team. We got out to the early lead but then we got into foul trouble. We put some young guys in and they did a good job. In the second half we played some bad defense and got down about 13, but we showed a lot of toughness. A.J. Jackson was a force inside for us and we won the game on defense.
"It is a great confidence booster for us. Marshall is a very athletic team and they destroyed us in the open court. I am proud of how we hung in and came out with a victory."
