Marshall Women's Soccer Opens Spring Season Saturday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's soccer team takes to the field against the W.Va. '89 ODP team at Sam Hood Field on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first game of the spring season.

"The team is excited to get out and play this weekend. The players have been scrimmaging each other in the off season so it will be great to face some other competition," Head Coach Chris Kane said.

The W.Va. '89 ODP team is comprised of high school sophomores and juniors from around the state.

This outing will be the first match since the heartbreaking double overtime 1-0 loss to East Carolina on Oct. 29.

The Herd will venture to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, on April 2 for its next action.

Marshall women's soccer games are free and open to the public.
