Herd Women's Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Head women's soccer coach Chris Kane is pleased to announce the 2006 spring schedule. The Thundering Herd will play four games and participate in two play days.
Marshall will face West Virginia's `89 OPD team during the opening game at 1 p.m. on Sam Hood Field. This will be the Herd's first outing since its heartbreaking double overtime loss to East Carolina on Oct. 29.
On the weekends of April 2 and 8 the Herd will be traveling to Ohio University and West Virginia University. Neither the Bobcats or the Mountaineers have announced the schedules for those weekends.
On April 15, Marshall will play host to the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy of South Carolina (CESA) at 7 p.m. CESA is the former club team for current player Ali Lizotte (Eglin, S.C) and incoming freshman Meghan Wetzel (Aiken, S.C).
Marshall will visit Radford University in Radford, Va. on April 21. The Highlanders, who finished 2005 with a record of 7-13, advanced to semi-finals of the Big South Championship where they were defeated by Liberty University.
The final match of the 2006 spring season will be the annual alumni game. The game will take place at 1 p.m. on April 22 at Sam Hood Field.
All home matches are open to the public and free to attend.
