CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. - After Monday's opening 36 holes, the Marshall women's golf team resides in 11th place with a 661 at the fourth annual Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate at El Diablo Golf and Country Club.
Maryland leads the field with a 606, followed by Florida Atlantic's 616. Missouri State dropped nine strokes in round two for third place with a 629.
The individual top five is comprised entirely of Terrapins and Owls. FAU's June Bolme (148) is 4-over par while teammate Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn (151) is tied in second place with UM's Kelly Calkin. Maryland's Katie Trotter and Katie Stepanek are in a fourth-place tie at 152.
Individually for the Herd, Tammy Mahar (Ashland, Ky.) and Stacy Wagner (Harmony, Pa.) are in a five-way tie for 16th place (158). The junior duo's scores mirrored each other, with opening-round scores of 81, followed by 5-over 77s in the second round.
MU senior Sheena Caron (Bolt, W.Va.) made her return to the course after sustaining a knee injury in the first tournament of the fall. Playing as an individual, Caron shot a 78 in the second round, the second-best one-round total of the day for Marshall. She is in a tie for 33rd with a 164.
Sophomore Whitney Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.), also playing as an individual, posted Marshall's fourth lowest total of the day (168) and is in a tie for 48th.
The Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate will conclude with 18 holes after a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.
