CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - The Marshall University women's golf team will participate in its second tournament in less than a week when it enters the UC Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati, on March 24-25 at Plantation Inn Golf Course. The 36-hole event begins at 1 p.m. on Friday, followed by the final round on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Marshall played host to the Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate earlier in the week in nearby Citrus Springs, Fla. The Herd finished 12th at the event with junior Stacy Wagner (Harmony, Pa.) taking top honors for the team in 13th place. Wagner fired a 235 in the 54-hole tournament.

The Herd has stumbled out of the gates this spring, finishing in the bottom three of its three tournaments thus far. The return of Sheena Caron (Bolt, W.Va.) may alleviate some of the recent struggles. The senior played only two rounds last fall before suffering a knee injury. She returned to play at El Diablo and finished third on the team with a 249.

The UC Spring Invitational is comprised of five teams. The host Bearcats will welcome the Herd along with Illinois, UAB and Wichita State. Plantation Inn Golf Course is a 6,161-yard, par-72 course.
