HUNTINGTON - The Marshall swimming team will travel again this weekend as it competes in another set of road meets at Youngstown State for a three-way contest with the Penguins and Wisconsin Green-Bay on Friday and at Duquesne on Saturday.

The Herd is 1-2 after beating Ashland in its last meet on Oct. 13 to rebound from two straight losses. Individually, senior breaststroker Michaela Sceli has recorded four first place finishes in the team's first three meets and sophomore Jenny Johnnson picked up a trio of wins in the Herd's meet against Ashland.

Marshall head coach Leonard Kraus is concerned about how his squad matches up with the competition this weekend.

"I think Wisconsin-Green Bay is going to be an interesting meet," Kraus said. "They've got some nice sprinters and backstrokers and unfortunately that's the point where we've kind of show our weakness. Matt (Anderson) does a great job with Youngstown so I expect to see some improved swimming out of them as well.

"We've got to figure out a way to counter that. I look for our divers to really do something Friday with Wisconsin Green Bay and Youngstown because we're going to need them there."

Duquesne (0-2) has dropped each of its first two dual meets of the season, losing on the road to both Buffalo and St. Bonaventure, but Kraus knows that Marshall will have its hands full with the Dukes in their home opener.

"Duquesne is just getting better and better every year," Kraus said. "They've done a good job of recruiting and making the team better every year. They're strong where we're not particularly strong so it makes things pretty interesting."
