Marshall Head Coach Royce Chadwick
On the game:
"I thought we played better as the game went along. I thought it was our best game so far. In the first half we gave up too many offensive rebounds. We did a better job in the second half of keeping them off the boards, I thought the offensive rebounds kept them in the game. They made a run in the second half and I was very proud of the team as they came together and showed some leadership to put their run to an end and close the game out the right way."
On rebounds:
"We talked about blocking out and going out and meeting your girl and then everyone going out and getting on the boards. They shot a lot of threes in the first half and those rebounds go out to parts unknown. You really have to go chase them down. I thought the difference in the second half was Casey Baker running down rebounds. I didn't think she had a chance to get, but she just outran everyone. When you get all the loose balls it just takes the wind out of everyone's sails.
On the second half fun:
"I think our change from a man defense to a zone defense our players executed it well and created turnovers. When we're in our zone we're already in our running lanes and a couple of steals and pressures our guards got the ball and were off and we got a lot of easy buckets from it"
On her the youth of the team and her role on the team:
"I think I just try playing the role that I need to play. I'm use to be running the four, but now coach needs me to run the three. Last year really helped me be versataile for him and for what our team needs, because I don't' think last year I could have done it as well without being nervous. It's a lot easier having a season under my belt.
