Herd Men Fall to East Tennessee State, 79-73

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Bucs' Kevin Tiggs scored 24 points and East Tennessee State held off Marshalll 79-73 Tuesday.
ETSU (4-3) led the entire second half, but Marshall (4-2) got to within 73-68 with 1:18 left on a 3-pointer by Matt Walls. ETSU's Dequan Twilley then made 6 of 8 free throws the rest of the way for the victory.
Twilley finished with 15 points and teammate Courtney Pigram scored 14 as the Bucs shot 54 percent for the game.
Walls scored 21 for Marshall, Tirrell Baines had 15, Markel Humphrey 14 and Mark Dorris 11.
The Thundering Herd, who trailed 35-31 at halftime, shot just 38.8 percent from the floor, including just 9-of-32 3-pointers.
The Bucs had a 10-point advantage at the free throw line, hitting 22-of-38 to 12-of-18 by Marshall.
