ORLANDO - Mike O'Donnell and Jermaine Taylor of UCF scored 17 points apiece to lead the Golden Knights to a 75-58 win over Marshall Saturday afternoon at UCF Arena.

With the win, UCF improves to 18-7, 7-3 in C-USA, while the Herd drops to 9-15 overall, 4-6 in league play.

The hot shooting Knights opened up a competitive game midway through the first half with an 11-0 run, which stretched a six-point lead to 17 points. UCF went into the half with its largest lead of the game, 19 points at 45-26.

UCF shot a sizzling 56.0% from the floor, 43.8% from three, and 100% (10-10) from the free throw line. The Golden Knights had two double-digit scorers at the break in forwards Lavell Payne and Jermaine Taylor, and limited Marshall to 37% from the floor and 37.5% from three. Markel Humphrey (Ellenwood, Ga.) led all Thundering Herd scorers with eight points.

In the second half, Marshall closed the gap to 12 at the 15:29 mark on a Humphrey jumper, but it was as close as the Herd would get.

Humphrey led Marshall with 13 points. Tre Whitted (Wilmington, N.C.) added 12, and Mark Dorris chipped in 11.

Mike O'Donnell and Jermaine Taylor led UCF with 17 points. Lavell Payne scored 15, and Josh Peppers added 14.
