BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Marshall women's golf team will compete at the Falcon Invitational, its final tournament prior to the Conference USA Championship, on April 16-17 at Stone Ridge Golf Club, hosted by Bowling Green State University.
The Falcon Invitational is a 54-hole, 11-team event that begins with two rounds of play on Monday and will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday. A shotgun start will commence both days of action at 8 a.m. Six golfers from each team will compete, with the top four (4) scores counting toward the overall team score.
Seniors Allyson Hatcher (Wheeling, W.Va.) and Amber Churchill (Dublin, Ohio), Marshall's top two players this season, lead the Herd into play at the Falcon Invitational. Churchill finished five strokes behind Hatcher at W&M, placing in a tie for 19th.
Freshman Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.) will play in the No. 3 spot, followed by senior Stacy Wagner (Harmony, Pa.), junior Whitney Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.) and senior Tammy Mahar (Ashland, Ky.). Freshman Mary Oliver (North Hills, Calif.) will compete as an individual.
Marshall and host Bowling Green will compete against Ball State, Cincinnati, Detroit, Findlay, Northwood, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo and Youngstown State.
