Marshall Women’s Golf Earns WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Accolades

Herd finishes No. 2 in nation among Women’s Golf teams in Team GPA with a 3.946
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Golf was again honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association recently with WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA accolades.
The Herd earned the distinction following a 2025-26 academic year in which the team ranked No. 2 among all Women's Golf teams after posting a 3.946 Overall Team GPA.
"Here at Marshall, we celebrate victory on and off the field/course, so just as we would do for a win, cue Thunderstruck!" said Gerald Harrison, Marshall Vice President and Director of Athletics. "This achievement by the Women's Golf team is a great example of the Herd Mentality when we talk about Honoring Their Journey as student-athletes. I'd like to commend our student-athletes, our coach Brooke Burkhammer and the Student Success staff for their commitment to excellence and their leadership in academics. This is just one of several reasons why it's a great day to Run With The Herd!"
The news of the team award comes just a week after Marshall had all six of its team members named as Academic All-American Scholars by the WGCA.
Team members who were named as WGCA All-American Scholars included 2025-26 seniors Abbey Bull and Olivia Kochan, juniors Maddi Hudson, Taylor Sargent and Madison Borders and sophomore Savannah Hawkins.
Those honored as WGCA Academic All-American Scholars had to have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50 percent of regularly-scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated.
