Irving, Texas - Marshall Sophomore Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.) has been named the Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week. Lynch collected her first golfer of the week award thanks to her first career victory at this week's Lady Herd Fall Classic.

Lynch was the only golfer in the tournament to shoot all three rounds in the 70s during an event where the conditions were wet and rainy at Guyan Golf and Country Club.

Playing in her hometown, Lynch overcame a two-stroke deficit heading into the final round to earn medalist honors for the first time.

Lynch helped the Thundering Herd to a second place team finish in the two-day event.

Marshall's Women's golf team will be back in action at the Wildcat Fall Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky Sept. 29 through Oct. 1.
