Travis Epling finishes 14th in season opener

Richmond, Ky. - Senior Travis Epling (Point Pleasant, W.Va.) finished a team best 15th place at the EKU Open this past weekend. Travis finished the meet with a time of 19:56.2.
Freshman Eric Frohnapfel (Morgantown, W. Va.) was the only other runner from Marshall in the men's division to finish in the top 20 with a time of 20:16.6.
On the women's side, senior Emily Bailey (Kenova, W.Va.) finished 16th with a 12:19.4 time and freshman Darby Mullen (Pecks Mill, W.Va.) finished right behind Emily with a time of 12:21.7.
The Thundering Herd will have its second meet of the season on Sept. 15 in Cincinnati at the Queen City Invite.
Men's team results: Eastern defeated UK by a score of 23 to 32 and Marshall by a score of 15 to 48. UK defeated Marshall 15 to 50.
Women's team results: Eastern defeated Marshall 15 to 45 but fell to UK by a score of 23 to 34. Kentucky defeated Marshall 15 to 50.
