Marshall Swimming Adds Third Signee

HUNTINGTON - The Herd swimming and diving team added another athlete in the fall signing period with a pledge from swimmer Jaimie Holmquist.

Holmquist swims for Douglas High School in Coral Springs, Fla. and for Coral Springs Aquatic Club. The younger sister of Marshall sophomore diver Haley Holmquist, Jaimie specializes in the IM, Breaststroke, Sprint Freestyle events.

"I am extremely happy to have Jaimie joining the team," Marshall head coach Leonard Kraus said. "She is an outstanding swimmer and is very versatile. I look forward to her playing an important role in the medley and breaststroke as well as the sprint free and fly."

Last week at the FL high school state championships, Holmquist finished fifth-place in the 200-yard IM and ninth-place in the 100-yard breaststroke, and was a state champion as a member of Douglas' 400-yard freestyle relay team.
